Our good friend, AJ Johnson, opened the new Oasis Fresh Market in north Tulsa this last month. Oasis is a full service grocery store located in what was a “food desert” in this part of our city. AJ’s experience, passion, community pride and his Christ-like compassion for people, brought him to this new endeavor. AJ asked me to serve with his team today to help show customers how to make simple healthy choices. We used produce and other items exclusively from Oasis to create a delicious, healthy meal that can be duplicated easily at home. Thank you AJ for your passion for this community and for allowing me to be a part today and in future First Saturdays. Oasis truly is “more than just a grocery store”.
